Spacing of positions with 1.4

I am reconsidering my positions in order to have a wider show space. I was wondering how everyone spaces positions. I was thinking of 7-9 front positions (comets, mines), 3 cake/slice positions, and a back row for artillery.
What would everyone recommend for spacing between the front and cake positions? I don't have unlimited space, but have a wide clear area.
Everything I shoot is 1.4g or 1.4 Proline.

It depends on how much overlap you want on your breaks.
I personally run 3 main positions that are 100-125 feet apart. I find that gives me a bare minimum of overlap on 200g cakes and a bit more on 500s.
I also have two locations for just for added mines/comets. One on each side of center, half way to the outside main firing position. This way I can use those two plus the 3 main firing positions to get get 5 wide fronts without having to have dedicated systems for just fronts.

Nice! I was planning around 100ish feet for my 3 main firing positions. Once the snow melts I need to go re-measure. I am thinking 30-35 feet apart for my front firing positions, but will have to play around with comet angles to see if that gives me what I want.

I have been using 75ft of spacing for comets/mines and anywhere from 100ft - 125ft for cakes/slices/shells.

Your parabolas will look good and the cakes will have some overlap.

I am not sure I will have space to do 7-9 comet/mine positions with 75ft apart... I have been looking at some plans from other shooting sites and thought 35-40ft might be okay, but I may need to go out and actually use some comets at angles and film how it looks in my space. My previous space was much smaller and I didn't even have the opportunity to "play" with these effects as much! It should be fun, but I am also not wanting to use up valuable (and increasingly expensive) product! Finale helps somewhat, but we all know that what happens in real life and simulations aren't the same.

Firecat8 has a video of my last show on his YouTube page down at thunder on the plains. Its 7 positions spaced 35 feet apart and 400 foot from the crowd. Its shot to Paint It Black and listed as Muzzeys show.

I will be sure to check it out. Thanks!

I had the time of my pyro life doing a ProAm pyromusical at SkyWars in 2020. I had 13 comet and mine positions spread across approximately 380 feet, so about 32' between each station. All other items (cakes and loads of 60-62mm single shot shells) were only about 6' behind the frontage. You can see what this spacing looks like in the video link.

Comets and mines I would figure 35-50’ apart, my personal sweet spot is 45-50’. NOAB and 60-62mm shells will break at about 250’ wide so take that into consideration as well in your layout.
