My Asus that I've had since 2011 and been using for my displays is on it's last leg. What are you using and why did you chose it? I use an ATF system and use Finale for scripting if that makes a difference. I don't know shit about PC's so any help is appreciated. I only use this for 2 of the 15 shows I do a year so I'm not looking for a $1000 laptop.

Are you going be using Finale 3D for scripting? If so, you'll need a GPU driven laptop and I haven't seen one with a decent GPU in it under $1000. I use an ASUS with NVDIA GeForce GTX 1060 and I've been very happy with it. I think it was around $1200 new. As for the ATF system, anything less than 10 years old will run it, it's a fairly simple software.
