Hi,
Some of you may remember me.
My name is Ken and I was a global moderator for Pyrofan until Tony (Pyrofans owner) decided to basically screw every pyro in this country when he shut his site down!
Fast foward a few months later,3 years ago, PyroCommunity and Pyrouniverse.info was launched with the hopes of reminding the pyro community that we still wanted a place to go for all things Pyro. We opened up these sites because of our love for Pyro.

I knew Josh Scott from FaceBook and we became friends and the day after the Mid-Atlantic Fireworks Festival (MAFF) ended, I called Josh on the way home and said lets pull the trigger on the new site.
We spoke to an attorney and I put up roughly $379 out of pocket to get things moving. There where originally 3 of us running PyroU.

Josh runs raffles on his Facebook site, Secret Pyro Society, which I didn't have much of an issue with because it was helping out the vendor community.
Recently. members have been texting me asking why there's so much desparity on what is paid out for the raffles vs. what was collected. I understand the fees involved on certain pay sites. He's been having a very difficult filling up the spots lately.

So, after another text, I reached out to Josh about this to discuss the next day, it was very late at night as I just got home. I didn't expect him to wake up to this messanger message but he did and was, well, pissed at those members for reaching out to me. He snapped at me and demanded to know who they where but I said they all asked to remain anonymous which seemed to set him off worse. I told him, Don't shoot the messanger". He continued to be nasty so I said I was done for the night and stopped responding.

Here's the issue.
Josh Scott took it upon himself to DELETE me from my own forum and listed me as "Guest" and I'm now hearing through the grapevines that every discussion he's had with vendors, I'm being told he said he was the only owner of PyroUniverse.info!

I know this is awkward for some but those that know me, I'll give you the shirt off my back to help in any way I can.
I'm asking anyone here who gets in on his raffles to stop. I am contacting all vendors to also stop advertising on my forum because !) traffic has been dismal at best the year or so (most of you are using FaceBook) and 2) the vendor community isnt seeing any ROI.

I'll be contacting the web master to permanetly shut down PyroUninverse.info......

Sorry for the long rant but I believe that Mr. Scott is doing this all for the weong reasons.

Amt questions or concerns, you can send me a pm....

Thank you for your time! :-)

Wow, I am sorry that you had to go through that Ken. There is always going to be that person who just sees a way to make a buck.
Unfortunately it seems like forums are a thing of the past with everyone using facebook instead.

Thanks for explaining in some detail to what happened. This is all very unfortunate. IMO the raffles didn’t make much sense to me, being that it was a relatively small group of pyros. I’m not surprised the ROI wasn’t good. I left that group and unfriended Josh after his numerous fb messages to join in these raffles. It also seemed kinda shady, and it’s no mystery to understand that Josh was getting kick backs and or skimming the cream off these raffles.

I agree with MHpyro, forums are all but dead, sadly. Case in point, whom shall not be mentioned here, his forum has very little action. UKFR a UK based fireworks forum that’s been around for a very long time, doesn’t get near the action that it used to. I hear that other different niche/hobby forums are not doing so well either.

Getting in contact with many pyros in the country, I'm finding out Josh isn't that accepted. I should've listened to the few poeple a few years ago when we started that forum because he couldn't be trusted. Even his once best friend warmed me about him. Apperantly, many others have had a "run-in" with Josh!

I'm in contact with the webmaster and trying to shut that site down.

Actually disposable income that enables this hobby is rapidly becoming a thing of the past. When gas prices pass $5 or $6 a gallon before the 4th of July, the hobby will be unattainable for most. Throw in massive inflation and supply shortages and I hear talk from some of the most hardcore hobbyist about taking a pause from the hobby.

Facebook's format makes it a shitshow for any type of lengthy discussions. Maybe I'm alone but I can't support communist run pro censorship social media sites like Facebook. So if the forums die out I'll limit my pyro discussions to in person.

2 points you make that I 100% agree with:
1. Facebook is difficult to have conversations on and the censorship is annoying.
2. I am a hobbyist and luckily have already stocked most of what I need for my 2 shows this year. However, I am rethinking my designs due to potential for not getting those few things I may need, and instead working with what I already have on hand. I am not at all thinking beyond this year due to unknows, costs, and personal desire to make financial gains elsewhere.

I don't know many people in the fireworks world, yet. Part of it is because I am new, and part is because I haven't been a big social media person. I was hoping that would change joining these boards, but now the world is changing and so is interaction on these boards.

Glad you said it Goneshootin'

I'm worried....But no one seems to give a crap.....Lies are truths, evil is good...The good get persecuted...

All these censorship platforms can suck my Patriotic balls...

I’m here and stop by multiple times weekly. I agree fb is a dictator and can force their will on you at any time, this is a problem for specific groups on that platform especially looking forward into the future. That said, however you may feel about social media groups, that is where all the posts and discussions are happening. Some people who really dislike fb, keep a very simple profile with very little personal information just to get into those pyro fb groups.

It is an Evil organization whos Only purpose is to collect and sell information on you. I miss what's happened to discussion groups but not enough to even consider giving in and enriching their platform. F'em.... ;)

I wondered why that site had lost name and passwords. Thanks for the heads up and explanation. So few sites ,TV, newspapers etc give you the who, what, when, where ,why and how anymore...sigh

Wait, what? The site site lost names passwords? This is the first I'm hearing about that.
Nothing I can do about it now because the "other one" banned me from my own site!

I'd suggest anyone who gets into his "waffles" to stop supporting his ass because our last conversation together, his exact words where, I don't give a fukk about the pyros. Speaks volumes!!!

Ken, this is AnonyMouse (Neil) from PyroU, then Pyrofan, then PyroU again.

Been off the pages and out of the game for a while now, but after searching, I'm glad to see a familiar name again.

Sorry to hear what you've been through with the sote an everything. Sad to see the way things have gone. I can't find anyone anymore... Tim, Joe (flashfuse), Joyce, pyrodano...

If you could somehow let me know where you guys are meeting on facebook. That would be great. Would love to talk to everyone again. I don't use facebook, but have a friend's dummy account SupremeKingsRadio.

Would love to reconnect with some of the old pyros.

I'll be at the BadaBoom Sit Down too, so hopefully some people will show up to that as well.

The facebook group is called Pyro Universe. There may be knock-off groups, the one you are looking for has 10.6k members

Hi Neil,
Been way too long and great to see you are still hanging around pyro. As MHPyro, most are on the Facebook Pyrouniverse page.
I started a PyroU,info web forum and with all the previous issues of the original PyroU and PyroFan shuuting, many just didnt trust forums after that, so members where light.
Plus, my partner literaly fucked me out of PyroU.info to the point I paid for it and I find out my name was NEVER a part of that site, as told me by the webmaster. Lets just say, my ex-partner is a fucking asshole who doesnt give a shit about pyros and is only into the hobby to make money!

Anyways, thats a topic for another day.
Hope you are doing well and if youd like, reach out to me via pm or messager. Would love to chat.....
