However, there's a catch: people can only light them on certain holidays, and the law only goes into effect next year if signed. Local governments will still have the right to restrict consumer fireworks. But this is certainly a step in the right direction!

It's a step in the right direction. If only Long Island would follow suit :(.

Gov Dewine signed it!!!!! Effective July 1, 2022....20 days throughout the year, including Friday, Sat, Sun before and after July 4th which includes 3,4,5th

Wow, that is a huge change. That has been a big mess in Ohio and PA for years, with citizens of each state going ot the other to buy fireworks.

Now that will be a little simpler, but I am sure that cities will regulate them to death if they can.

Now you can get NC to legalize them., good luck on that.
