Hi Everyone! My name is Dan Wherry. I live in Michigan, I'm 26 and I've been playing with Pyro pretty much all of my life but in the last 10 years I've become what I would consider an "extreme hobbyist" 🧨 . I was a member on the old PyroU and Pyrofan as: tradami.

I have an IT background and as such my role here is to help with the backend and continually improve the features and functionality of the forums. If you have any suggestions I'd love to hear them!

I've now been doing large shows and pyromusicals for about 10 years with 1.4 and 1.4 Pro items and I am a member of MPAG(Michigan Pyrotechnic Arts Guild).

Common Brands I use: Brothers, Winda, Big Fireworks, Tsky

Favorite Firework: Ball shells

Favorite Effect: Dahlia with Strobe

Firing System I use: Cobra :geek:

My name is Marlin and I am a commercial truck driver but also have many years of IT experience. Like most, I have had a fascination with fireworks since I was a child. I started out with trying my own S&S backyard shows in the time before I knew about things such as a type 54, e-firing, and before fireworks were legalized here in PA.

I joined the PyroUniverse forum and learned a little about a lot. I met other pyros in my area on PU / FB and started to help with their awesome backyard shows.

The Pyros TV show on Discovery gave me a kick to get into doing it professionally. I found a PGI DOC course and was recruited to help on shows for a major east coast fireworks company.

Now-a-days I found a local display company that I work for and couldn't be happier. I also like to attend club events when I get the chance.

Favorite type of display: Pyromusical
Favorite effect: Tossup between Nishiki Kamuro, Little Big Shots 5" Ultra, & Fireballs
Firing System: FireOne and Cobra
Advice to others: Join a club! You have the potential to learn A LOT plus network with other like
minded individuals! Clubs keep this hobby going but they do not exist without their members.

Hi, all! It's Jim Priebe, age 55. I was NightLighter on the old PyroU, PyroFan, and I even have my own YouTube channel called NightLighter, so I think the tag will stay with me my whole pyro life.

I am a member of KCAP, the Kansas City Area Pyrotechnicians. My "thing" is pyromusical design, set up and execution. I'm a power user of the Cobra Firing System and a pyro safety advocate. Read on...

In my real life I'm an Occupational Therapist who happens to treat a lot of hand injuries - from simple things like fractures, carpal tunnel syndrome and arthritis to complex hand trauma (crushing, mangling, amputations). As such, you'll see me being A HUGE advocate of safe practices in pyrotechnics - because I've seen the results of those who haven't been safe. I've even treated a man in the past with multiple trauma from a consumer shell cato in a PVC mortar - so don't get me going on THAT topic!

Favorite type of display: Pyromusical
Favorite effect: This varies for me. I'm currently infatuated with the Nishiki Kamuro, and I've loaded up my stash work many variations of this effect. I love scrambling comets/go-getters and horsetails.
Firing System: Cobra
Advice to others: Join a club if you can! There are some amazingly talented and knowledgeable people in pyro clubs that can help a new pyro get up to speed FAST! I know that it really changed my game. In the club setting I think you'll discover the unique brotherhood (and a few sisters!) of pyrotechnics.
