I was board being locked inside and I took the day off from work so I put together a how to video. This is for my own personal setup using Audacity, PyroIgnitionControl, and my WPS pro bundle firing system. Most of this is self taught so I’d love feed back if you do yours different or have a different method. Enjoy

I don't use WPS, but I'll bite. I have used PyroIgnitionControl (PIC) quite a bit. First, I would have busted this video down into smaller segments posted in YouTube, rather than one video over an hour. Maybe update your description with a "Table of Contents" with time links.

Most of what I learned about PIC was from fjpyrosystems.com, although the videos are focused on the s12C system, the PIC information is relevant to other systems (fjpyrosystem how to videos). It's good to have some other instruction out there - thanks!

The cost of PIC is great, but it's basic- maintaining the database is not user friendly. When you try something like Finale 3D or FWSim, you get spoiled. But as you show free Audacity and free PIC is tough to beat for small shows and it's worked great for me.

I totally agree I should have broke it down into smaller vids. I made the video for another member that was purchasing several mini WPS systems and had several questions about how to script out a pyromusical.

I also agree that loading and maintaining the database is a bit of a pain. I wish there could be a central cloud based database and you could grab do a quick look up and import the timing and things like that. This is one of the main reasons I tend to reorder the same fireworks year after year (Victory Pro Pacs) so I don’t have to build a bigger database. I think the new Cobra software can do something like this, but the main thing that turns me off from that software is paying for it every other year. It would annoy me since I’m cheap. lol.

I just wish there was a way to upload an excel database into PIC. You could at least edit and manage your spreadsheet and load or download information from PIC. But for the cost it is great.

I admit, that I sometimes like the idea of not seeing the visual model of the show. All the effect bars in PIC make sense to me and I have this mental image of what is going on. It is kind of exciting to see how it turns out in the actual show. Sometimes things don't work out like I visualize, but no one else notices. And many times I'm surprised. It makes the "backyard" 4th of July show fun.
