It is apparent that I haven't kept up with the times but I am glad that a little bird told me where the cool kids are hanging out these days. Signed up specifically for St. Louis info but hope to be more active in the future.

Check out Pyromania each fall in your area. Two days of fireworks and competition. many clubs and teams to show you the ropes. i attended 3 years ago.

When David said "St. Louis", he was referring to the Pyromania event. Back when it first started in '08ish it was simply referred to as the "St. Louis Shoot" when it was held at Springdale Park. David was one of the competitors in the very first Pro Am competition (still one of my favorite finales of all the ProAm shows). If anything, David would be showing the rest of us the ropes ;-)

Do you know if video from the initial ProAm competitions are posted anywhere? I've done a cursory YouTube search for St. Louis Shoot, MoPyro shoot, ProAm, etc. I'd love to see David's.

Sure does, here are the 4 shows courtesy of FireCat. I was really impressed with all 4 shows given the limits put on them (it was waaaaaay more restrictive as far as product allowed, devices available at the time, etc). Funniest part of the whole night was when Tye opened up. We all knew who he was, but he hadn't put on a lot of pyromusicals at that point so I guess folks would have considered him the "under dog"....until his show finished and we were all like "wtf!" Very impressive night of 1.4 fireworks if you ask my personal opinion. Probably one of the few times in my life I was around a competition and the competitors really had no idea which team was going to win until they announced it. If memory serves me correctly, there was only like 1 or 2 total points separating all four teams in their respective final scores. Not bad for the first run LMAO.

Team #1 - Tye Hanke:

Team #2 - Ryan Adams:

Team #3 - David Vanover:

Team #4 - Tim Jameson

Thanks so much, Tim! I was looking a few years too far back. I'm always studying, looking for ways to improve my game.

In your display, do you remember the cake/effect you used from 3:15-3:45? The slowly falling silver effect. Very well scripted to that piece of music!
