Hello,
Magenta here from Christchurch New Zealand. I've recently inherited a fireworks business from my father Anthony Lealand who passed away last year. we have a client asking for her husbands ashes to be scattered in a fireworks show. Our company has done it before and i have details for how the shell was made but i cant find any records of what weight each shell could carry. I know ashes can vary in weight considerably and i don't want to overload the shells.
Last time we used 9 x 6" shells for a woman's ashes and this time will be a mans ashes which usually weigh more. My physics isn't up to these calculations. can anyone help?

(Google) Height of the individual can determine weight after cremation but on average. Male ashes weigh around 6 pounds and female are about 4 pounds however the crematorium decides final weight based on hound remaining bone fragments are dealt with. Grinding into powder, etc.

Does the family want all the ashes to go up in a shell/s? Some may want small urns with a bit of ashes or even necklaces with ashes. (Have to ask) that helps you determine weight calculations. Since your building the shells in your factory then make them part of the entire display. Some (mix with) comets, mines, crackle and a few shells. Could dispose of the remains readily without needing to build 10-12” shells
